After installing the TB 5.0 update this morning, I found that File> Insert Link does not work properly. When the link dialog box is displayed, a URL or other address cannot be pasted into the Link Address box.

Has anyone else run into this? Any suggestions for resolution?

I found this post in the Mozilla getsatisfaction.com forum:

    http://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla_...outgoing_email_insert_link_ctrl_l_not_working

"Yes, that's a known issue which recently must have sneaked in. Apparently the context (right-click) menu is broken for Link Location in the Link Properties dialog, thus not allowing you to paste the URL in this way. However, clicking into the text field to focus it, then using the Ctrl+V keyboard shortcut for "Paste" still should work. "

There's also this more focused thread on Mozillazine TB Support Forum:

    http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2239895

I can confirm that the Ctrl+V option allows me to paste a URL into File> Insert, Link Location. And since this issue is known, a fix has been developed, and it is scheduled to be included in the next TB version, I'll consider this thread closed (but not resolved until the fix and update are in place).

FYI, this bug has been fixed in Thunderbird 6 beta. Running it now with no problems.
