I just bought an Inno3D GeForce FX 5500 a few hours ago. The guy working on it seated the thing on my PC, installed the drivers, all that routine stuff.

When I got home, I tried it and it seems that when I open applications, including Test DirectDraw and Test Direct 3D (DXDIAG), the system crashes!

It also crashes when I open games (Virtual Sailor) and even when using the nVIDIA Control Panel.

    What should I do?

Under the circumstances you describe I would head straight back to the shop.

Was the card tested in your computer before you left?

No, no lemme rephrase that: The system *FREEZES*. Sorry, I was getting frustrated...

Anyway, yes, they tested it but they did not open games and other apps.

I'll try the DirectX one first.

If nothin' happens, I'll try to use the second one.

    Will keep you updated. =)

If you had no problems prior to changing the graphics card I suspect the card itself - either faulty or not compatible.

    Okay.

I'll try to contact the seller tomorrow (it's already late night here).

It seems that the problem is already solved.

The problem was the VIA motherboard, so I downloaded the Hyperion driver and poof, the whole thing worked!

Thanks for the replies. Marking thread as RESOLVED.
