infufficient video memory (windows 8.1)

    i am using windows 8.1 update from windows 8 , when i playing game (full screen) , sometime will be display "insufficient video memory" and close up my game ... before i update to windows 8.1 , never happened this problem !

    this is my notebook spec :
    model :ASUS S46CB
    CPU: Intel core i5-3337U
    RAM: 8GB
    Video Card : NVDIA 740M (VRAM:2GB)

    (Sorry for my poor english :eek:)

    Well, with that video card, it clear you have plenty of video memory so that error tells me it is probably a addressing issue, and not a limited RAM issue.

    Does this happen with just one game or all games? If just one game, check for updates.

    Is Windows fully updated? Have you upgraded your graphics drivers?

    Have you scanned for malware just to be safe?

    i play one game only ^^(updated already) ... other dun have test after update to windows 8.1
    windows and graphics drivers updated
    using anti-virus scan already ... safe ^^
    this problem appear after i adjust my virtual memory (cause when i playing game , the system will warning me about the computer low memory(i dun have open other program))
    This action will cause the "insufficient video memory" ?

    I would reset your virtual memory back to the system defaults - that is, to let Windows manage it. I would also make sure you have lots of free disk space so you might want to run Windows Disk Cleanup (or CCleaner) and if necessary, uninstall any user installed programs you don't use.
