not sure if this is a hdw or sft problem. cant find the error message anywhere on the web to give me a starting point.

when starting up machine it immediately comes up with "windows\system32\config\system is missing or corrupt. says to run "r" function with the xp cd.

when i try this i immediately get - "line 15498 of the inf file \i386\txtsetup.sif is invalid ".

replaced with new h.d. and the line error comes up right away.

    anyone any ideas ???????????????

Have you Googled for - windows\system32\config\system is missing or corrupt several hits on the first page which seem relevant.

I didn't note that your thread was dated 5th June - I guess Arie bumped it as there had been no replies. Glad you sorted it out :)
