    Hello all!

Some of You may remember the previous discussions and are thinking ...... ...... oh noooo, not again ...... ...... but I´ve got some information which just might be of interest.

First of all, I had all kinds of problems when installing a mobile HDD rack as Slave to the Primary Master HDD. The computer didn´t boot from the IBM 60GXP unless it was jumpered to Cable Select.
The new Hitachi 7K250 does however boot the system even if it is jumpered as Master. This leads me to believe that the situation with the IBM 60GXP would have been resolved by updating the firmware. Why do I believe that?

Well, when I connected the Samsung SD-612S as Primary Slave, the 60GXP didn´t boot no matter what and that was resolved by a firmware update.

Finally, I had reason (or the opportunity) to ask about Independent Device Timing over at StorageReview and this thread gives a good explanation and supports that Independent Device Timing really works.

    Thanks for Your time,
    Christer

It's important. It was just at the end of a long, hard day and I just thought it was ironic that this "debate" or whatever you want to call it still going on.
