I have incredimail and have had it for a long time. My problem is my inbox is empty. It says I have received messages but it is empty, and I think I know the problem, yet can't figure out the solution. If I right-click on my inbox and check properties this is what it says... C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\IM\Identities\{08E660E0-909D-11D7-A9D7-0004758AF6F0}\Message Store\c:\windows\TEMP\IncrediMail\FLD5323.TMP.imm
Yet if I click on the properties for the Outbox or any other it says this... C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\IM\Identities\{08E660E0-909D-11D7-A9D7-0004758AF6F0}\Message Store\Outbox.imm.
I have no idea how c:\windows\TEMP\IncrediMail\FLD5323.TMP.imm, ended up in the middle of the chain, or am I wrong to assume it should be inbox.imm. If I follow the properties, there is no c:windows under message store. So when someone emails me it says I have received the message, but there is not. I have adaware and ran it, and it didn't fix the problem. I upgraded to the current incredimail build. I ran the hijack this thingie but don't understand it. This is what that reads... I hope someone can help me, because I really do like Incredimail and hope to be able to resolve this issue if someone can help me restore my inbox and read messages I haven't yet seen.
Thanks so much for your time.

    Hi

I use IM too & love it but there have been a few problems. One thing I have not done is to make it my default e-mail program. I am running XP HE know others who set IM as their default had some porblems sending / receiving mail. This only happened over time thus I assume that OE or Outlook are best left as your default although you do not use them.

Not sure if the following will help with locating the source of your problem.

    Sending and Receiving problem:

If you are using Windows NT, 2000 or XP go to these locations and delete all the files in each one of them:

    C:\WINNT\Temp

    C:\Documents and Settings\Profile Name (Logon Name)\Local Settings\Temp

    C:\Documents and Settings\Profile Name (Logon Name)\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

If you are using Windows 98 or ME go to these locations and delete all the files in each one of them:
    C:\Windows\Temp

    C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files

    1. IncrediMail allows you to import your e-mail account settings from other e-mail programs on your computer.

If you have this e-mail account configured in another e-mail program do the following:

    Open IncrediMail.

    Go to:

    Tools -> Accounts.

Select the account which does not work.

    Click on Remove.

    Click on Add.

    Select: Automatically configure setting

    Click on Next.

In the new window, select the e-mail program you do not have any problem sending and receiving mail from.

    Click Finish.

    Click OK.

Double click on the new account that was created in IncrediMail.

Go to the Servers section and insert your Password for that account.

Click OK and try to send and receive mail.

    2. If you do not have this e-mail account configured in another e-mail program configure your account again.

To learn about Your POP3 and SMTP servers and the correct configuration you need to fill in IncrediMail, please click on the link:

    IM settings

Just thought - have you created any message rules ? If so you may have to delete the Rules folder as this may be where things have gone out of order.

I have a problem with the Smart Notifier which I still have not resolved  Even if the program has been working sometimes reconfiguring might be needed ( I know horrible ! )

I would hate not to be able to use IM. If I find anything which may help you I will post back.

    Didn't work

I tried what MiniB suggested and it still does the same. It stored Incredimail in the temp folder of windows.
Why does it do that??? How do I change the path of my inbox???

    Hi

Have you tried backing up everything & then reloading IM ? Have you been able to ask IM for a solution ? I have asked several things & do get replies. One is still not resolved but they always reply.

I am not quite sure what has happened but still looking for you.

I have just checked my Inbox properties : C:\ Documents and settings etc

NOTE : not in Windows but Documents - this may be the problem !

This is making me crazy MiniB

I've tried everything you suggested including reinstalling IM twice. I deleted the Incredimail folders in the c:\windows\temp folder, I deleted the bin folder under IM in program files. Would you rightclick on your inbox and tell me what the path says? Does it send it to message store\inbox.imm, or does it direct yours to the C:\windows\temp\IM folder. I don't know what to do....

I didn't understand what you said MiniB in your reply that said: I have just checked my Inbox properties : C:\ Documents and settings etc

NOTE : not in Windows but Documents - this may be the problem !
Where do I check that again???
Thanks for your time helping me. I do appreciate it. You're probably getting sick of this as much as me...
