Increasing # of downloads at one time

Hello there,

Can someone , maybe Ramona or anyone who knows the answer, tell me how to *increase the # of downloads* in Netscape at one time. Can it be changed to download more files at once. Like, if I download a *RAR* file with a lot of different files as like RAR_01 thru RAR_10 or a bunch of midi songs,I can only download 2 of them at a time in Netscape (latest version). This annoys me as it takes a lot longer cos if I could download 5 or 6 of them at a time, I could get finished in a hurry. As it is, it can sometimes take a loooooong time to download one program or a bunch of graphics, clipart, music etc. Jeesh !!!

So.Can I change the settings somewhere, maybe the User profile or Registry settings to download more files at one time or am I stuck with limited downloads.

you can use about:config to change it.

filter by network and look for:
network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server (default 2)
network.http.max-connections
network.http.max-connections-per-server

no guarantees, but it looks to be correct.

keep the number reasonable, as too many connections to a given server is rude. Additionally, some (many?) ftp servers limit connections to 2 (assuming you download using ftp....)

Thank you tranquilo. I will be considerate with my changes and only up the download number from the default of ( 2 to 3) . I agree with you and I certainly do not want to be rude .
