I have just upgraded my Brothers PC from Win98se to XP Pro. I set all regional settings to English UK, but when I type the @ symbol I have to get that from the top left shift+2 which I guess is a US keyboard setting? I checked the settings in control panal and they are all set to UK.

What do I need to do?

XP sets up the US keyboard by default. If you have not already done so go ...

Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages > Text Services and Input Languages > Details > Installed Services.

Which keyboard do you see? If US change it to UK, if both delete US.
