I hope some knowledgable person can shed some light on this strange behavior

Several times in the last couple weeks my NS 7.02 home page seems to be directed to a page that is a incomplete netscape home page. This also causes other pages to load incomplete.I tried using GoBack to revert to earlier time but that has no effect. Just as suddenly it starts, it stops and goes back to normal.

I've noticed in "preferences" my home page is shown as "http://home.netscape.com/bookmark/7_0/home.html ", but it is changed to
"http://home.netscape.com/ ", which is where NS 4.79 used for home page.

Even when I type that URL in it changes back to the incomplete page.

I've searched the forum but it seems like I'm the only one to have this problem or I'm not using the right search terms.

    My system is as follows:
    ASUS P4S8X motherboard
    512 megs ram
    Pentium 4 2.53 gig.
    C: 125 gig. Western Digital
    M: 30.7 gig. Maxtor

    Hi jtilla,

I just tried the link above:
    http://home.netscape.com/bookmark/7_0/home.html

    and was also redirected to:
    http://home.netscape.com/

I have not had problems with any other web pages not downloading completely, however.

Have you tried deleting your Cache Folder, and deleting the history.dat file?

Change your startup page to a blank page:
    Edit|Preferences|Navigator
    When Navigator starts up:
    Enable: Blank Page
In the Location bar under Home Page
    Enter: about:blank

Let us know if this helps.

    Ramona :D

    Hi Ramona,

I generally stay on top of the cache folder, amazing how quickly it grows. My "find files" search turned up 6 files named history.dat. The largest is only 32kb in size, which does not sound like its so big as to cause problems.(correct me if I'm wrong here). OR, the fact I have so many could be a problem? I also have 4.8 installed.

Still, since I am not experiencing that problem at the moment, I think I'll hold out and see how things go. However I have saved your response and if I have that happen again I know where to look for a possible fix.

    Thanks for your reply.
