When I receive an email in Outlook Express with an attachment that is an MP3 file I get an error message when I try to play the file within OE. The error message says I do not have a program associated with the file and I need to get that done in the Folder Options Control Panel.

When I go to the Folder Options Control Panel I find, as I expected, that I do have a program associated with that file type (MP3). The reason I expected to find the association is MP3 files outside of Outlook Express play just fine. In fact, if I save the attached MP3 file it will play just fine from the folder it was saved I just can't play it while it is attached to an email.

Never had this problem before but I reformatted my HD and reloaded XP Home and since then I've had this problem. Haven't found any other file types giving me any trouble.... yet.

    Obviously I'm stumped....:D

    No one has any idea?

I have to say that I've never had a problem that didn't get a response even if it was something like... oh, how bout, "That's impossible, it can't happen! "
    :D
In any case, if I figure it out I'll post it.
