When i connect to Internet , and i check the connection status at the bottom right , which shows me the connection speed and how many bits recieved and send, i see that even after the page has completely down loaded, the "send" bits are always Increasing, at a good speed.
I tried "ad-aware" tool from download.com, which detects if there are any spy or ad pushing programmes installed on my pc ,...and i deleted all the possible things which could cause the problem, and deleted them...but the problem still exists.........Please Help...Thanks in Advance:confused:

Does this occur all the time, that is during the entire time that the connection is open and you are not accessing any sites? Or does it only occur for a short while after a connection is first made and after your hompage has fully loaded?

To test and see if it is occurring all the time, open your browser, once the connection is made, click the X in the upper righthand corner of your open browser window, when asked if you want to disconnect the connection select No, wait a few seconds and then check your connection status to see if there is any activity on it.

Also, do you have Windows Update, or a similar type of program setup to run whenever you have an active connection. If so you may see this type of behavior occuring while these programs are checking for updates.

    Hope this helps. :)

There are many programs that will attempt to check into their website whenever IE has opened a connection. Windows update is just one of them. Other types of programs include Virus Scan Software, Desktop Enhancements, etc.

In Windows XP you can chedck to see if Windows Update is activated by right clicking on the My Computer Icon on the desktop, select Properties from the pop-up menu, click on the Automatic Update Tab. You will see three selections, one of which is to turn off automatic downloading.

In Windows 95 & Windows 98 Windows Update is scheduled to run in Task Scheduler.

Glad to hear that you were able to find out what was causing this and resolve it. I should have suggested that you also run a virus scan, but I had it stuck in my head that it must be a program that was looking for updates. Sometimes we all look at a problem to narrowly.

If you don't already do so you might want to consider setting up your virusscan software to run a full system scan at least once a week and make sure that your .dat files are kept up to date.

    Have a great day :)
