    Hello,
This is my first time to post on this forum. I hope you can help me. I have a Sony Vaio, Netscape 7 and just went from Windows Me to XP. When XP was installed, I went to our ISP mailbox on Netscape and the Wizard asked for a new registration. I registered exactly as the "old" mailbox. A new imailbox was created and all of my saved mail has disappeared. I've tried to go into preferences, a search on the C drive and several other frustrating searches to no avail.
Is the "old" mail box lost forever or can it be recovered?
    I will appreiate any help!
    Regards,
    Patrick

    Patrick,

Welcome to the board! If you did a clean install of XP, all your emails are gone. A clean install will wipe out everything on your drive. Sorry. If you want to double check, you can find the profiles folder at thew locations listed on this page.

If on the other hand, you did not format the drive containing your old mail, then you can do a search for *.SLT to find all your Netscape 7 profile folder locations. (WinXP has a different default folder location, and the files are hidden so be sure you have show all files selected in Folder Options)

Ramona is the moderator here and her Netscape Solutions page http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/index6.html should contian the information necessary to copy your old INBOX and SENT Mail to your new profile's xxxxxx.SLT\Mail\ISPaccount folder

http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/ns7mailtrnsfr.html gives some details on manually moving mail files from one profile folder to another, although the examples aare from NS4.xx or NS6 you can apply the information to NS7 to NS7 profiles.
