My computer will just not install any java...

I have deleted past versions, i have tried online and offline installation, i have tried installing with internet disabled and ive tried, i have tried run as administrator, i have tried disabling UAC, I have tried downloading older versions, i have restarted the computer, I have tried revo unistaller... everything. I cannot understand it.. and java has such terrible support... i cant find a techincal support contact anywhere.

This is what it says when i install it...

    "Installation Failed

The wizard was interrupted before Java(TM) 6 update 16 could be completely installed. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again. "

    Hello Spiderpug,

I know we have the answer/fix to this in our own board archives since our site has helped many users, in the past with this issue, but the following google link also just about covers the basics including the java clean tool.

It looks like you have tried many things but links may include something you might have overlooked. Give this a shot: (please take special notice of sublinks included in the link to java.com, such as "do I have Java "?)
can not install or update Java

Java.com suggets windows installer cleanup utility:
    http://www.java.com/en/download/help/uninstall_java.xml

You may choose to ignore google hit list on topic but I am including it anyway. Others may find it useful:
google hits for topic, "wizard was interrupted before Java(TM) 6 update 16 could be completely installed "

    hi

I have tried windows installer cleanup utility, it installs successfully but i cannot find it anywhere???? I dont think its compatible with Vista.

I have tried all of these links already, none of the instructions or tips work.

And that windows cleanup utility seems dodge because it says microsoft office update? what has that got to do with disk cleanup? lol

    windows installer clean up utility

Make sure you put check in the eula agreement.

Default path it installs to is generally,
    c:\program files\windows installer clean up

Not recommended to run it from there but it does have a readme.txt you should read. It contains all explanations and directions. Not that you really need them, the utility is very easy to run, but like all things, it has its dangers and risks if used improperly.

There should be a shortcut placed in your startmenu/all programs list called "windows installer clean up ".

Click on it and when opened it will have a list of programs installed by Microsoft installer. Java *** will be among the list. Clean only the references related to Java.

    ----------------------
Please note this quote from that text:
    Did you try this link:
    http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml

The above is a link that will check if you have Java installed and which version. I suggest this because it is not unheard of for a user to actually having Java installed and not realizing it.

Also have you checked in browser(s) to make sure you just haven't disabled these/this, or that your security is set so high as to have disabled Java. This may mean a check of options for any security program you have that could also be controlling policies.

    ------------
Any Microsoft installer problems other than Java? (updates for example)

I have it already installed but i have to run it from inside program files... there is no shortcut, i have installed and unistalled like 3 times and it never makes a shortcut in the start menu or anywhere.

Java is there, its listed only as "(All Users)Java Auto Updater [2.0.1.2] "

Should i clean it if it I have to open it from program files? I have already deleted it once before and it must have come back somehow?

That most likely is from the utility JavaRa but cleaning it up can't hurt since I'm going to give a windowsbbs link to follow carefully. Specifically Bronis thread numbered 9. See:

The only thing that will change, in references, is the Java version which is currently Java 6 update 18. Please note and follow Broni's instructions carefully.
    Follow Broni's instructions

Once again, check Java installation and version
