    Hello,

We've just got new computers and we're switching our mail client from Thunderbird to Outlook 2010. I've converted all the old email so Outlook can read it (tested out just fine), but I can't figure out how to actually get the email into Outlook on the new computers.

To complicate matters, Outlook automatically downloads new email (how do I turn that off?!?) so if I overwrite the Inbox with the old Inbox file, I assume I'll lose the new messages...

One last question - how do I import Thunderbird's address book (already converted to "comma separated" file)?

All files are sitting on the new desktops.

Outlook->File - Import would be the place to go.

Thanks, Tony T. I'd also found this import path, but my emails are in .eml format rather than .pst, so Outlook doesn't find anything to import. Outlook can display each individual email to me in Outlook perfectly, but when I try to import by pointing to the folder on the desktop, it's clueless what to do with the .eml files that are inside.

We don't seem to have OE installed on these new computers. I was of the understanding that you had either one or the other (OE or Outlook), but not both. Could you please clarify?

It turns out we didn't need OE. I looked at those last instructions & put on my thinking hat. Outlook wouldn't import the emails, but why shouldn't it let me drag the individual files in? No reason at all! It DID let me drag them in, once I re-created the folder structure. We are DONE! Thanks for your help and research.
