    winxp home, sp2

    New system.
I installed both mozilla 1.7.5 and FireFox 1.0.5 - both ok
I have backup files for mozilla 1.7.5 and FireFox 1.0.4 on an external HD.

After installing 1.0.5, i looked in the docs/settings folder and dont see anything
relating to Moz or FF at all (not even an "applications" folder) under any users.
Version 1.0.4 had folders in the doc/settings folder in the old system where all
    the bookmarks/e-mail address were kept.

I want to get my bookmarks/e-mail address into the new version. How can i do
    this?

    thanks,
    savagcl

FF1.0.5 does not form a new profile, but will use a profile which was present before. The path should be:C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xyzxyz.Firefox1.03
In my case the profile in use was originated with FF1.0.3.
You don't have to do a thing, unless 1.0.4 were not on the hard drive.

    Westside,

Thats just it, 1.0.4 was not on my HD but i have a backup copy of all the files
    (docs\settings, prgFiles\common and prgFiles\mozilla firefox) after installing
    1.0.4
Problem is i dont have an "Application Data" folder at all under docs\settings.

So where does the bookmarks and e-mail address files go under 1.0.5?

    thanks,
    savagcl

If you can run 1.0.5, you have a Profile, and profiles are by default in theApp.Data folder, in the path which I gave. May be you don't know that xp hides the folders The info is correct although not updated for the newer FF version. The App.data is hidden, nevertheless.
After we got this straight, I should say that the App.Data is not a required location for a new profile. You can create a new profile in a more accessible location. In the meantime, you will have copied and pasted the backup profile, which will have, for simplicity sake the name: xyzxyz.Firefox1.03, as I mentioned before. If you rename the name of the newly created profile xyzxyz.Firefox1.03, all the copied info will be used by FF1.0.5. To make sure that it does that, modify the Target line(right click|Properties) to point to the new/old profile to be: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox -p xyzxyz.Firefox1.03
Remember, one keyboard space after Firefox, and another one, after the letter p. Now your 1.0.5 will open with the old info. I have never done exactly that way. I usually start with the Mail account, and copy/paste into them the old Inbox, etc
