Importing Favourites from IE8 to IE7 - method

If you attempt to import Favourites from IE8 into IE7 or earlier you receive an error message - 'Not a valid bookmark file'.

The solution is to open Notepad, open the IE8 bookmark.htm and save as ANSI. The resulting file - bookmark.htm will then import into IE7.
