Win7(Ms Outlook) doesn't seem to recognize the OE(dbx files) messages, saved from XP/OE, on a seperate hdd. I've gone thru the motions ie File/Import/Import from other program or file/tried various options in next step, but get nowhere, be grateful for some advise..........thanks

Further to my post above, the steps I've taken to import the OE dbx files, saved in XP, are correct, since there are few options - I get to the dbx folder & each time MsOutlook is unable to open it.
As confirmed MsO seems to work well in Win7, but I do need to retrieve the dbx files. In the absence of OE, is there another email program I can use in Win7, that can import/open the saved dbx files.....thanks

Are you getting any error messages?

Are you doing File Import from another program or file and then selecting Outlook Express?

Thanks you both for response, I have MsO installed & have downloaded/installed WLM, seemingly imported the dbx files saved(92) then WLM tells me files have been saved in MsO in OE format! I can't find them either in WLM or MsO - I thought they would at least appear in WLM to import from MsO...thanks

Sorry, I can't help you, I've moved to Outlook many years ago myself.
