When I imported(or drag&drop) a favorite link from window into mozilla, it became a file link instead of http link. Is there a way to fix that?

Hi bluesky,

In order to help with you problem, could you be a little more specific. I'm not clear by what you mean by "window" to Mozilla.

Thanks!

re: IE favorites

I disabled the automatic IE's favorites import feature of mozilla since I already transferred all of them to mozilla favourites. But somehow, one favourites folder got missed. Now I had to transferred it manually, but all I got were files links, not internet links.

Note: I meant window's favourites directory.

bluesky,

Although I have little to no experience with IE, I do know that you can export Favorites. Have you tried that with the missed folder?

You could also email the Favorites to yourself in Mozilla, if there aren't too many of them. Then from the email, add them to your Mozilla Bookmarks.

It works for me in Netscape 6.2.3 (Windows XP)

Make sure the one you drag is the real *****.url file, NOT the short cuts to *****.url

It doesn't seem that I can import, export folder. It only allow for separate link.

I haven't forgotten you!

Hi bluesky,

I found these instructions for Exporting your leftover Favorites folder:

Export a Favorites File

Export creates an htm file that can be imported by Netscape and Explorer.

Click File in the menubar and select Import and Export
Highlight Export Favorites and click Next.
Your favorites folder with sub-folders is displayed.
Choose the favorites folder to export all favorites, or one of the sub-folders.
Click on Next.
Export the favorites to Netscape (Export to an Application) - - this overwrites the Netscape bookmark file
OR... export them to a floppy disk (Export to a File or Address) This is better - use Netscape to import the list into its bookmark file.
The Wizard will tell you you have successfully completed the steps. Click Finish.
You'll see a pop-up window which notifies you of a success. Click O.K.

Note: If you use both Netscape and Internet Explorer on a regular basis, consider getting bookmark software that can be used by both.

HTH,

Ramona :D

You're right on. I Had transferred "most" of IOE6's favourites to mozilla but somehow(?) missed one important folder.

But I am looking the way to import a folder not a file link by file link.
