Last week I took the plunge and installed NS 6.2.2. Most things seem to have transferred smoothly.

One exception was my personal address book. I thought it had imported correctly at first, but later discovered that some addresses didn't make it. Also one of my lists was dropped and it appeared that individual "cards" had mingled with others (i.e. Joe Smiths card may have had Bob Jones email address.)

I deleted the personal address book in 6.2 and tried to import my pab.na2 file from 4.78. I starts to import but never closes. When I close manully there is a PAB listed, but it has no entries and the Personal Address has no entries either.

I do several "list" mails and now realize that at least one mailing may not have reached everyone in the list.

I guess I have two questions. 1. What to do to import. 2. If I use my 4.79 Messenger to mail out, will the mail I've already done in 6.2 be corrupted?

    Hi CalE,

    Question 1.
You are not alone! I had a similar problem with 6.2.3, and again with Mozilla1.0 RC2. Some users have no problems with the Address Book, but many experience your problem.

You could either try a third party Address Book Manager, or use Communicator as your default Mail program.

Dawn is the recommended Address Book Manager.

You might also try saving your 4.78 Address Book as a .csv or .txt file, and then importing it to 6.2, but my guess is that you will still be unsuccessful.

    Question 2.
If you use Communicator Mail, will it corrupt 6.2 Mail? It shouldn't. You could leave your Mail on the server, then download it in Communicator. To be on the safe side, I would make a back up of the current Mail in 6.2 to avoid losing any of your messages.
