Win 7 pro and ultimate (3 different machines 2 32 bit and one 64 bit).. I use the built in imaging software once a month to image the hard drive. So, I'm listening to a tech talk radio show and they say that if you need to replace your hard drive, the image wont work if you put in a different sized HD. Is that right? If so, what software would the winbbs members recommend that is idiot proof? It seems to me, that HD sizes change as time goes on. For example, in my current machine, I have an approximate 465 gig drive. Looking at my local computer store, they don't sell any 465 gig HDs--just 1 - 2 terabytes

    Thanks

If the replacement drive is smaller than the original drive, it may cause problem. If larger or the same, it should work.

    As Bill said...
Also, if you get a larger terabytes drive, you can create a partition the exact same size as the old drive's partition.
The only time I use a full terabyte(s) drive is for media storage, otherwise I section it off with several partitions, e.g. one for the operating system, one for documents/files, etc.
