I have used the facilities in the Drawing Toolbar to produce an image in a Word document. It is ok in the Print Layout view, distorted in the Web Layout view and missing in the Normal View. I would like to post the doc, with image, to web sites. So far I have only been able to send the complete doc by attaching it to emails. Copying the doc gets rid of the image. I know I am missing something simple but what is it?

The word drawing tool does not create images which are entirely compatible with other formats. It generally creates emf or wmf formats and these just are not widely supported outside Word.

The symptoms you describe are 100% consistant with known issues with these formats regardless of the source of the image.

I strongly suggest you abandon the Word Drawing tool if you intend to export this document to other formats.

You can use Paint and then save as bmp (better quality but large file size) or jpg (less quality but smaller file size).
