Cannot save images to folders where they can be retrieved by say ACdsee etc

When using "Save As" eg an .jpg file , the image cannot be found in folders where it can be retrieved. Have many hundreds of jpeg pictures previously saved
in various folders. Now when I use the save as command - the image ends up in recent docs as *.lnks which I cannot open or use.
Only changes made to software recently was updating Norton and XP.

present location in the boondocks of N.E. Thailand - need help please

Did you context click(*) an image and select "Save Image As ... "?

It is likely to be some setting in the registry got damaged for unknown reason. Netscape 7.2 has released, and I would suggest you give it a try.

(*) Context click is commonly known as right click.

Happy days _ thanks Anthony NZ

:) Did not have access to netscape 7.2 - so reloaded 7.1 - now can
"save image as" in hard-drive folders from captured internet images.
(downloading 7.2 would have taken hours using dialup telephone lines)

    Thanks very much to Anthony
