I have checked the "remember me" box but each time I use my laptop,I have to sign in to my google account.I have deleted cookies, disabled all add-ons,downloaded latest Java, checked to make sure cookies were not being cleared on exit, either thru Firefox or AVG anti-spyware/malware.I had this problem on both my laptop and desktop and disabling an add-on called Gmail notifier fixed the problem on the desktop but not the laptop. This problem has been going on for several weeks.I do not have the problem using IE on either computer even though my homepage is set to igoogle.Any help would certainly be appreciated

Are you able to retain any cookies when you close FF?

Tools>Options>Privacy keep until they expire? Show cookies, see any?

yes,I can see a bunch of cookies, including google.com..and mail.google.com...but no igoogle.com if indeed it should be there..I should mention that after I sign in,my home page (Igoogle) comes up and after a few seconds, refreshes itself...then,all works normally..thanks for responding/Lawson

It looks like you have gone right down the line on the iGoogle troubleshooting page. The only thing I can think of is to try clearing your cache.

Another thought is to start FF in safe mode and see if you get a change in behavior that way.

I cleared the cache by unchecking everything except cache where you determine the action you want when clearing private data. The reason for this is that when I cleared the offline storage, the button just dimmed alittle and I could not tell what it did.I tried this on my working desktop and got the same button dimming when I cleared off line storage so it must be working.I started in safe mode but since my wireless couldn't work in that mode, all I got was a blank page with FF toolbars.I'm about ready to switch to IE ...maybe try to reload Fire Fox first. Thanks alot for your interest and suggestions/Lawson

By all means use IE, or, better try to use IE Tab, a Firefox add-on which allows one to use the IE engine. I have never had the need for this add-on, but I have it, just in case a Website is built around IE, and not too well around Firefox.

I had the same problem and I just fixed it. Go to tools/options/privacy and if there's a check in the Automatically start Firefox in a private browsing session check box uncheck it. Sign on to your igoogle account and it should stay saved. It worked for me hope it works for you.

Thanks for responding to this thread...I can see where your suggestion would solve the problem for lots of users. However, my option for private browsing was not checked...My Desktop is fine..same old problem using Igoogle with laptop..I have switched to Google Chrome..it works fine except the browser isn't as nifty..thanks again
