    Iexplore.exe Application Error

    Hi guys...

New to the board... cause i'm searching for a solution for the problem i've got with a error.

    The error is :
    This comes up when i
    - close a program
    - close the IE (but when i've got for example 2 IE opened... only the last one get the error when closing)

Also... it doesn't matter which url i'm on with IE.. it ALWAYS happends on the last closing window of IE :(

I've run HitmanPro that runs multiple anti spyware stuff...
    http://www.hitmanpro.nl/

I've scanned my computer with NAV ...

But it keeps popping up...
I'm certainly not new to computers... but this one keeps me frustrated..

I've searched the forum... and I've created a hijack log...
    Anyone... plz...

I only glanced at your HJT log but the 010 sticks out.

This is what the tutorial states :-

    O10 - Winsock hijackers
    What it looks like:
    O10 - Hijacked Internet access by New.Net
O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'c:\progra~1\common~2\toolbar\cnmib.dll' missing
    O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\program files\newton knows\vmain.dll

    What to do:
It's best to fix these using LSPFix from Cexx.org, or Spybot S&D from Kolla.de.
Note that 'unknown' files in the LSP stack will not be fixed by HijackThis, for safety issues.

Zephyer - Welcome to the Board :)

I suggest you run System File Checker, which is the first port of call in a Repair of Internet Explorer ....

Start > Run > type in sfc /scannow - note the space and have your XP CD handy. SFC will run and exit with no closing dialogue box. To see which files, if any have been replaced look in Event Viewer.

As you have posted a HJT log I am moving this thread to the Removing Spyware and Viruses Forum - Board policy

    THnkx for both your answers...
I'll try the option PeteC offered...

I already did that scan... but didn't know that i could see if files would be replaced... :D

Just checked it... but i really don't know what to look for... *shucks..*
I do, however see this in the application section:

Does this has anything to do with it...
I'm going to let XP repair itself with the boot cd cause like MS said in your link...
If it didn't get fixed after that command... do the repair option... ;)
    I'll come back on this.

After running the repair... nothing was acting normall... so...
Quick formatting my c:\ (after moving some stuff around) and installing a fresh XP ...

    NOTE:
If others read this thread due to similar problems... only use the fix as last resort...
It really messed up my pc... :(

    So...
This thread can be closed as i'm installing my pc ATM and not having the problem anymore (if i'm correct :D )
