Resolved IE8 Videos will not play

    Since doing a thorough cleaning of the entire computer (the WindowsBBS way!), I can no longer view online videos. DVDs and attached email videos will play but online videos like those on YouTube do nothing. No error notifications. Where do I start troubleshooting this? Is IE, is the player, is it XP? Thanks.

    Hi Larry. Make sure you are using the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. Download and install it from here, Adobe Flash Player 11.5.502.135.

    Make sure to uncheck the optional Google Chrome and Google Toolbar if you don't want them. Then click on the download now button. After Adobe Flash Player installs restart IE8 and hopefully online videos will work now.

    Do you have another Internet browser installed or just IE8?

    It was up to date, so I uninstalled it and re-installed it. All is well. I found another program that would not run as the exe file would produce an error message about an invalid config. I had to reinstall that too. But, all is good! Thanks!!!
