    Hi,
I am using Win XP (SP3) and I have just upgraded to IE8. When I click on a hyperlink in, say, an email, (Outlook (Office 2003)) the Iexplorer screen comes up and that's all. When I go back to the original source of the url, (which has been relegated to the start bar,) I see a minimised screen there that says at the top
    LOCATE LINK BROWSER
and this looks like it is asking me to point to the browser. It is a tree view such as you would get in the left hand panel of Windows Explorer.

If I close that screen and then click on the original url hyperlink again, the correct target screen comes up. This doesn't make sense and is darned annoying, but what is that 'Locate Link Browser' screen? Does it want me to point to the Iexplorer.exe file and would it keep coming up if I did point it to Iexplorer? If so, why as there is already Iexplorer running!

Has anybody else had this? I would appreciate some help please.

    Locate Link Browser

Thank you, PeterC. This worked once, but then sent me to my own home page (the default page). Most odd. Let me try this over the next day or so and I'll get back with the results. I'll clean up the system too.

    Thanks again.

I'm sorry to be late in coming back to you, but I was in hospital and they don't allow private computers in there! They have a bedside phone system that gives internet access, but I've never known it to be working. Madness.
Anyway, I worked on the problem when I returned home and after a few attempts, it worked. Most odd. Many thanks and I'll put this down as resolved.
    Best wishes
    Allan

Thanks PeteC. I'm waiting now for biopsy results. Fingers crossed!

I wasn't sure how to get a 'resolved' thingy up there and was looking for a 'how to do it' when you already did it for me. Be a bit quicker next time, will you, there's a good chap? :)

    Thanks again,
