    Try clearing Temp Files and see what happens.

    just to clarify, i have 2 problems with geni.
    1) on their home page, when i scroll down i reach "more" and then nothing happens;
    2) the second problem is when i try reaching their discussion reply url which also turns
    a blank.
    thanks in advance

    Works OK for me on W8.1. It's obviously your Login page but I could check Home and other content. Neil.

    i guess so. joining it is for free and it is an extremely enlightening site for persons wishing
    to follow their ancestry (like me for instance).
    thanks.

    i solved this problem. it doesn't help my other problem but somehow i think it is in that direction.
    i noticed on my laptop that the second page of the homepage did download but occasionly got a message: "stop running this script? a script on thnis page is causing your web browzer to run slowly. if it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive." the solution by FIXIT was to change the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Styles\MaxScriptStatements = ffffffff. Ergo, this solved the problem. thanks to those who took an interest in my problem.

    ie8 discussion url does not load SOLVED

    PROBLEM NO.1 ie8 discussion url does not load. [RESOLVED]
    PROBLEM NO.2 no 2nd page followup of geni.com site.
    i mistakenly wrote the solution for PROBLEM NO.2 on the PROBLEM NO.1.
    the solution for PROBLEM NO.1 was solved by the microsoft support team.
    my encoder default is UTF-8 whereas the geni.com site uses WESTERN EUROPEAN (WINDOWS). simple as that.
    i tried changing the encoder to AUTO-SELECT but that does not work.
    thanks to all who contributed to my problems.
