Downloaded IE8 and then Power Point would not work. Deleated IE8, went back to IE7 and had no problem with Power Point.
    Any ideas why?

And when you say PP would not work you mean what?

Do you get any error messages with helpful info that can be googled?

I just had the same experience; XP SP3, Office 2007. Installed IE8 and Word/PowerPoint 2007 would not launch, safe mode also won't launch them. Tried winword.exe /a, repair Office, remove Word and PowerPoint then reinstall, uninstalled IE8 but still no go. Excel, Outlook, Access, ect. all work fine.
Word and PowerPoint do work with runas or logging in as another user so I guess the easiest solution will be to rename my user profile and let it recreate.
