This is driving me nuts! Ever since I uninstalled uTorrent my IE7 is dreadfully slow, this seems to be limited to pages with video - when I disable the shockwave add-on all is well. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version but the same problem arises every time. I have disabled my A/V software and still this problem exists so it isn't down to the A/V suite. I have no spyware or viruses, the rest of my pc runs sweet and there are zero issues with my Firefox browser - it is ONLY IE7 which is affected. I've used system restore to no avail either. Any clues??? The browser is fine without shockwave or flash player add-in but slows to a crawl with it. I can't run my browser without add-ins on a longterm basis as this isn't a fully-enriched browsing experience and besides, it all worked well a few days ago.

PS I have reset the browser and tried everything. Phishing filter off, pop-up blocker off etc.

Me thinks you solved your own problem;)

Many add-ons are known to cause issues.

Yeah but running a browser without flash is a dull, yesteryear experience and kinda fudging the issue. All was well a few days ago including flash.

Hi Sunking101. Have you tried installing the latest version of flash player? Also this may not solve your problem but it will make Internet Explorer faster. Go to http://enhanceie.com/ie/tweaks.asp. Scoll down to where it says Speed Tweaks. Click the link that says Increase the connection limit. You will be prompted if you want to save or run this file. Click run. Registry editor will ask do you want to merge this information into the registry? Click Yes. Close Internet Explorer and reopen it again for the speed tweak to take effect. Also delete your temporary Internet Files as well. Tools< Delete Browsing History. :)
