I just had a new WinFast moutherboard put in and IE7 is acting strange. I had no problems with the old board. I'm using XP-Home.

Desktop shortcuts take me to the chosen web site ok, but if I type any name in the address bar it just sits there and doesn't go anywhere.

Also when I click on the star icon for Favorites it comes up with a large blank box but when I click on Favorites>Organize Favorites it properly shows my hundreds of organized favorites.

I downloaded the current version of IE7 on top of mine but no change.

    What is going on?

Did you load the chipset drivers for the new mobo and then make a repair install of XP ? - both necessary with a new mobo.

Have you tried a Reset of IE - Tools > Internet Options > Advanced ?
Uninstall IE 7 through Add/Remove programs - this will roll you back to IE6 - test. Then install IE7 - test.
