IE7 causing McAfee update problems

    One of the reasons I dislike McAfee is the requirement of using ActiveX to do their updating. For a security Co., ActiveX and Security should be an oxymoron.

    They use ActiveX for the dog & pony show they put on.

    Is this for an update to the program files, the viral definition files, both?
    Is this for manual update, automatic updates, both?

    (I no longer am a fan of McAfee either; but it would help to know the above)

    I don't know for sure; I know from experience with McAfee Signiture updates on other systems that ActiveX has to be enabled.
