Recently I have been getting a login request after clicking on "Tools ", "Windows Update ". The login screen request a user name and password for 131.107.85.1
I can still go to Windows Update thru the Start Menu and that works. I have WinXP and IE6. Thank you.

I suppose you get the logon request ONLY for the Windows Update web site... I'm not sure my tip is the solution to your problem. I know folks (logged on to a network) who have had problems with logon requests when entering the internet/intranet.

But it might be a tip:

In Internet Options under Security > Security settings you can select "Logon automatically with the default username" (or something similar).
