    Hi all,

I'm trying to look at "www.forbes.com" using IE6 with sp1. My OS is W2K. The page starts to load but then stops with a very short error window : "Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://www.forbes.com." I've removed sun Java, turned on and off the Microsoft VM tools, and even disabled my Goggle toolbar, but always get the same results. I reinstalled IE6 once. This is not a big problem, just annoying. The page loads with Netscape 7.1 with no problems.

    Any ideas ?

    Thanks,
    Jim

Possibly blocking it's cookie or a popup blocker stopping the ad that wants to jump up with it? Ever have this problem at this site before?

  3. to hide this advert.

I just started to get this magazine so I thought I would look at the site. I can load it successfully at home ; the problem's at work, behind firewalls, running Symantec Anti-virus,etc. I do have Spybot loaded, and the IE security settings are at default values.

I'm behind a fairly tight work firewall right now. The site loaded but google's blocker killed a pop-up of some sort. No general effect on the page loading though.
