Using IE 6.0, Win 98, Ad-Aware SE, Norton's 2003 -- sometimes after using IE and closing it timesout to close file and Windows screen icons cannot be clicked. Norton's and Ad-Aware are current and spyware cleaned daily. Weird problem seems to begin after downloading MS critical updates a few weeks ago.

    Please advise.

    LOL.

Ok, try an IE repair. The option is in the add/remove applet.

Now its my turn to be sarcastic. You waited this long after those updates? Are you aware of the updates you have on your system? If the repair option doesn't work, those updates may have to be rolled back or IE downloaded again.

As far as I know all updates have been installed as they come out, at least in the past year. I have been remiss in the past to update often. However, I installed IE SP1 about 8 months ago and then tried to keep everything updated.

Anyway, reinstalling IE and patiently going on line and updating everything again (at 48K) will most likely solve this silly problem. Some day I may even get a new PC, but Win 98 original version still works fairly good. Thanks,

    Dusty

Well, I un-did-it and re-done-it and now IE6 runs perfectly. Guess it takes a little boot, in the rear, at times.
