have been getting a number of calls lately and clients are saying ie6 is telling them "saying a problem has been encountered and needs to shut down ". in some cases these are brand new dell systems. also what strikes me stange is I use ie6 and have not had the same problems. have been telling them to upgrade to ie7 and for whatever reason that seems to stabalize the browser.

    really doesnt make sense.

steve - yea ive seen that and also 193,000 hits on googling the error message. what doesnt make sense is these are new systems with nothing special on them except the following programs i install on new systems.

    antivir
    spybot
    ad-aware
    spywareblaster
    ccleaner

i use the exact same programs and i have had no problems. unfortunately its possible clients after getting system are installing things which could be causing the problem. guess going to ie7 right now is the way to handle this.

    thanks.
