    Hey!
I'm sure it's something simple, but I can't seem to figure out how to get back my drop down menu choices (file, edit, view mail, etc.) that disappeared on me yesterday. I probably hit the wrong button but haven't a clue how to restore them. I'm tired of looking at just the back and forward arrows and other icons. Not very useful.

It appears from your description that you are in full-screen mode. One of the icons that is displayed on your toolbar should look like a Large Window with a smaller window in it and an arrow pointing to the upper right corner. Click on this icon to return to normal view and you should see your drop down menus again.

You can also accomplish this by pressing the F11 key on your keyboard.

    Hope this helps. :)

    still wondering

I still haven't figured out this problem. I've tried F11 and F everything else, right-clicking all over the place, and nothing comes up. I just have the icon arrows for back and forward, stop, refresh, home, etc., no words at all up top for pull-down menus. NOthing I do seems to get them to return.
    Anyone have any hints?

jonnyh--You are looking for your Menubar. Here are two ideas. Click View|Toolbars|make sure the item Lock Toolbars is unchecked. It is possible the menubar will now appear, but if not, move your cursor arrow to the dividing line between the blue titlebar and the grey area just below at the top of the screen. Does it turn into a double headed arrow? If so, left click and try to "fish" for the menubar by dragging down slowly on the double arrow. (If no success, you could also try to fish at the dividing line between the Address line and the active window below it.)
If that does not work, try to Repair Internet Explorer. Control panel|Add/Remove Programs|scroll to Microsoft Internet Explorer|highlight|click Add/Remove. In the next window, check the box "Repair Internet Explorer" and click OK.

    still fumbling

Nothing's worked so far. I'm e-mailing back and forth with Dell and have tried system restore and updating my IE6, neither of which have helped.
    any more ideas out there?
    Jon
