I am running XP Home and IE6. I was recently trying to download a program on the internet and was unable to because I kept getting a messsage that I had my cimputer setup to block cookies. I can't seem to find out (without buying a program) how to unblock cookies? Thanks in advance for any help you might give. willieboye

P.S. Just found some old notes which tell me to go to IE, go to tools>Internet Options>Tab for allowing browser to accept Cookies. Is this why I am having trouble? I can't find "this" in XP Home. These notes might have been for WIN 95. willieboye

    WillieBoy,

To pickup on your notes: > privacy tab > set the slider to medium.

willieboye--Going a step further on charlesvar's suggestion, click on the Advanced button on the Privacy tab. That will allow you to "allow cookies for the session" regardless of your other settings.

Try Internet Explorer>Tools>Internet Options>Privacy tab>Advanced button to adjust how Internet Explorer handles cookies.

Greetings Charles, Welsh and Jim. What a revelation! Advance tab really opened things up for me. With my "head over heels" computer operations, I generally stay away from such tabs as "advance ". I never realized how many web sites were listed there (add & remove). I checked them all out and found a few blocked that should be allowed. Removed a few. (In fact I removed them all. A good check of my heart seeing that blank space staring back at me. Finally was able to correct it.) Therefore I was able to get my download working as it should. A lot of thanks to you all!! willieboye
