IE6 - Can't use text entry fields

Here's a weird one. I have an old Win98SE computer still going. Useful for email, internet, word processing, etc.

A few days ago this problem popped up. I cannot enter text into ANY Internet Explorer text entry field. I've tried many different sites and all are the same. For example, I would not be able to logon to this BBS because I couldn't enter my id and password.

I don't suspect the keyboard or mouse. They both work fine in all other applications. When I bring up IE, there is no flashing cursor in a text box, I cannot click in the box, I cannot use the keyboard to tab to the box. Nothing works.

Any ideas??

Since a few days passed without a reply, I decided to re-install IE. Took a couple of attempts but that solved the problem.
