    Hi All,

Last nite I was speeding along with all the fixes you folks gave me and figured, if I updated my IExplorer from MS direct I thought I would truly take off! After 1 hour and 13.7 mb of time I think I should have left well enough alone. I can log onto the internet, but talk about a slowdown. Worse than the Doctor's in Philly.

Any ideas what is happening? How can I restore the old explorer programs. Can't seen to see any back up files or pointers to the old version....hope someone can help me....jongru

I can't remember what OS you said you were running, but.......

If you are using 98 or 98SE, You can do a restore previous version of Internet Explorer by going to Accessories, System Tools, System Information, tools, & Internet Explorer Repair Tool Kit. On the diaglog window choose restore to previous version.

With Windows 98 First Edition this will restore it back to basic IE4.0. With 98 Second Edition it will restore it back to basic IE5.0. Then you will have to re-install any security updates you want.

If you're running ME, 2000, or XP, you've got me. :)

It usually takes a few hours to a day or so for things to settle down after doing an upgrade, or a lot of fresh installations. One important thing is to scandisk and defrag after installing new stuff.

    browser slowdown

    Hi All,

I finally logged onto TrendMicro and had them do a free virus check. Was infected with the Worm_Klez.H virus. The program was fantastic. Deleted all the (23) files infected. I rebooted and, voila! Speed is great. Thank you all. I warmly recommend their website if all else fails to increase a slowdown on the internet....jongru
