I had to recently downgrade from IE6 to IE5.5 SP1. My Favorites Menu button does not allow me to select any options. I can't even select "Organize" or other menu control items. I was able to turn on the "personalize" option but it does nothing.
    :(

Go to control panel and select the add/remove icon. Select IE5 and then click the add/remove button. It should give you an option of "repair ". You could also try going to Windows update and update to IE6 again.
