IE won't download from internet

    i've got a friend and he's got a problem downloading from the internet.his OS is windowsXP,and he's had the problem when he used to use dial-up.here's his version of whats happening:

    Can you get him a copy of HijackThis? It will fit on a floppy. Transfer it to his machine, scan and save a log, then copy it to the floppy and post it for him. If he can get email, we can send him a copy too. Then he can email the log for posting.

    Bellsview--I do not know if you pay BT for internet service, but if I understand your post, you are getting no internet access at all since BT became your broadband supplier. Have you talked to them? If they can't help you should not be paying them, since you are not getting any service.
    In the old days, the standard solution for the problem was to clean out your Temporary Internet Files and other Temp files.
    Then viruses, hijackers, etc. came along and things became more complicated. So noahdfear's suggestion is good.
    If you are getting any error messages, please post them.
