IE Stops Responding

IE when surfing the internet will just stop on its own and do nothing. It will stop for maybe 30 seconds or for 1 minute or more, then it will go on for several minutes normally and then do it again. It is NOT the connection, as I can have netscape standing by and it works fine. It did it with 5.0 and just updated to 5.5 and still does it, have run the "repair IE" also--any ideas?

Don't know the answer , I use this Free browser , which has a built in pop up stopper . ( don't add , About Blank , to
the existing filter list )
Uses very little resources ( No Add's ) & is as good as any other browser .
Intergrates quitely into your system , does not take over . you can still run your normal browser , if you wish .

IE will sometimes display those symptoms when a file, or files in its cache is corrupted. Try emptying the cache (if you haven't already).

I did that earlier today, and it seems to be working ok now!
