I had nothing to do the other afternoon so I downloaded Netscape 7.0 (32 M) and installed just to see what all the noise is about between MS and Netscape.

I found that while in the BBS with IE, when I read a thread and go back to read the next one, the one I just read has the envelope closed. The subject has dotted lines around it and is easy to find in order to continue to the next post. If I have replied to the 1st post, that thread is no longer there having moved to the top of the list.

If I am using Netscape, none of the above happens. Also the message space for replying is smaller.

The question is: Is this normal for Netscape or what?

Normal, it is because IE handles more about the the visited links.
If you want Netscape to function like IE, don't use the back button in most of forums, but use link instead (such as Windows BBS > internet > Netscape Navigator ).

    Thanks for answer Antony,

When I visit the BBS, I want to go to view new posts rather than going to each different board. That way I can read all the unread posts in every subject without wading through all others.

I guess IE is the best way for me at least for the BBS.:)

    Hi,

Yes, the message window is smaller in NN.... I can't help that.

The cookie issue you noticed is also true, but like Antony said, if you don't use the back button, but a link instead the cookies work fine, and any post you read shows up as such....
