Trying to figure out a way to clean up my Favorites. I thought I would move the Favorites folder from the profile that I log in with but it didn't work, when I go in to IE and click on the Favorites, low and behold, there still there. ???????? Anyway, you may or may not know how your favorites can get overwelming after saving sites, and saving sites and saving sites...Well Its getting to be a bit much and I just wanted to put them aside and start with a clean slate and go to them if I need to and add them to the new collection. Anyway, any suggestions would be great!
Thanks for your time! Have a good one.

    Hi szvpvp
I absolutely love the Bookmark Wizard . I use it to make a web page of my favourites (It does it automatically for you), then often use it to refer to.

    Hi szvpvp!

When You move the Favorites folder to a new location, the references in the registry is updated and refers to the new location.

Move the Favorites folder back to where it was.

Create a new folder "Favorites Archive" or whichever name You prefer.

In Windows Explorer, open the Favorites folder and with one exception, cut the contents and paste in the "Favorites Archive" folder.
The exception is the "desktop.ini" file which is a system file and should remain in the Favorites folder. It is a hidden file and unless You have set the folder options to show hidden files, You won´t see it.

Now You have an empty Favorites folder but the next time You restart the computer, the sub-folder "Links" will be recreated.

In Windows Explorer, You can create other sub-folders that You need and You can copy or move the links between them.

szvpvp--What do you mean by "clean up "? You can delete any Favorite you know you seldom/never use with a right click|Delete. You can use programs such as FavOrg or AM Deadlink to automatically find which sites are no longer functioning and delete.
    FavOrg
    http://www.pctip.ch/library/downloads/dl.asp?id=1840
    or
    http://search.atomz.com/search/?sp-...sp021c0f00&sp-p=any&sp-w-control=1&sp-w=alike
    AM Deadlink
    http://www.aignes.com/products.htm
Neither AM Deadlink not FavOrg will work on secure sites, however.
