Which version of IE was the first to disable the (right-click) copy'n'paste function?

I haven't found copy and paste using the right mouse button to be disabled in any version of IE. I currently have IE 11 on Windows 7 and copy and paste using the right mouse button works just fine.

Some websites will disable that function, though it can usually be got around using the Ctrl/C and Ctrl/V key combination.

Both methods of copy/paste work for me in IE 11 in W8.1. Neil.

My Versions over the years never had a problem. Like mentioned above about some web pages may give you a problem, but there is a way around it. Haven't had that problem since I can't remember.

As others have mentioned, NO version of IE disables copy/paste right-click.

There are web design 'tricks' that can be used to disable bowser functions (such as right click menu).

That is why it is so hard to get around some of the stuff that Adobe does with their PDF's also.

Well, your experience and mine is widely different. I've yet to find one place that rents internet use in which the right click is not disabled, and so far, I've tried 4 or 5 of them. I had thought it was from Windows 7, but then the library ugraded to another version of IE, and the right click also vanished (the library still uses XP Pro), so now I'm convinced the problem is IE, as the right click had worked before.

What did they say when you asked them about this at the library? They may have put a restriction on it.

I would think that if the Library staff had intentionally disabled the right click copy/paste in IE, they would also have found a way to do so in Firefox.

Have you actually asked the Library staff about this issue?

That is what I asked them 4 days ago. That would of been the easiest thing to do.
