I recently upgraded from IE5.1 to IE5.5 on my vintage PII 266MHz running W98. Everything to do with IE and OE is now much slower, including loading, displaying web pages, scrolling (very jerky rather than smooth), displaying email text after double click on item in OE inbox etc. Is there anything I can do to restore the speed of the older version? Is it possible to reinstall the earlier version wihtout a lot of hassle?

    Thanks,

    Alistair

Not really sure what your problem is. The puter I'm using right now is a 3 yr old PII 233 MHZ that I upgraded from 5.0 to 6.0 with no noticable drop in speed. That said, you can unistall it in the add\remove programs in the control panel. It should revert back to the last version you had. It may or may not fix your problem. How much ram do you have?
