I installed ie6 on my win98se pc and customized the toolbar-no text,no toolbar lock, repositioned button bar and removed the links toolbar. Whenever I restart my pc the sttings of ie6 are GONE. How can I make it permanent?

I did not have this problem in the ie 5 that came with win 98se. I tried uninstall of ie 6 but the problem is now with ie 5!

    Same Problem

I am having the same problem. Every time I open Explorer after a restart, the search window pops up on the left side, as well as the links toolbar at the top. I then have to close the search window and the links toolbar. Explorer used to retain these settings, but not anymore. I've tried with both Explorer 5 and 6. Any helpful feedback would be appreciated.

    Here's what worked for me.

I got IE set up the way I wanted it...small buttons, no text, closed out the search window through View>Explorer Bar, repositioned the address bar, etc....then opened a link in a new window. After checking to make sure everything was the way I wanted it in the second window, I closed the first window and then the second window. IE seems to want to remember its settings from the second window for some unknown reason.
