My uncle has a PC that his nephew built for him. 200mhz, 4 gig, 32mb. He has WIN98SE and IE6 and comcast cable modem. When ever he goes to run IE it takes a longgggggggg time for any part of the site to be displayed, and then all of a sudden the whole site appears. During the wait there are no toolbar buttons and it almost appears as if its freezing. I have uninstalled IE6, rebuilt it and nothing ever changes. Any suggestions, BTW this also happened with IE5, IE5.5

I'd try adding more ram. You should have a minimum of 64 but 128 would be better. If it were me I'd buy another 128 or at a minimum another 64. Is there a lot of hardrive activity going on while it's loading the page? If so, ram will probably take care of it. Even if it doesn't fix the problem he'll most likely see a definite improvement in overall performance.

That's what i suggested to him and he was going to ask his other nephew that built the PC what type he needed cause he has no clue what type of slots are on the motherboard. Thanks for the helpful response as always.
