I have recently purchased a Sony Vaio notebook that is running MS XP Home edition. Also, it was loaded with IE 6.

I am not able to see the web pages as designed. I am not able to see the background colors. I see the colors I set in the Tools~Internet Options~ Colors. I have disabled/unchecked this function and used the windows default, but I still don't see the proper background. (I am able to see the site properly on another computer running Win98 & IE6)

I have search thru MS FAQ and the FAQ, but I am stumped.

HELP I would like to see the pages as designed.
    Thanx

You don't say exactly what looks strange but if the accessibility options are set, you will get some odd looking pages since your browser is set to over-ride some of the code for the pages.

Try Tools~Internet Options~Accessibility and make sure none of the blocks are checked and that there is no style sheet listed.

If that isn't the problem, say exactly what is wrong and someone can probably help you out.
