Hi: Posting for a relative, system is running XP home with SP2 recently installed. Recently the machine began running very slowly, I suggested Adaware+Spybot.
Once Adaware was run and items removed(683 of them) he could not access the Internet or even connect. Tried reversing the changes through Adaware but the same issue remained. The ethernet had been disabled, re enabled it and am now able to connect but IE 6.0 displays the page unavailable error.
Have been through the motions with ISP with no luck and am unable to activate any restore points.
Will install Netscape tomorrow in order to get online hopefully but am curious as I have never seen this happen with Adaware before and have used it dozens of times in the past.
Anti virus was running and up to date.
    Thoughts?

    Thanks

90durham--It may not be AdAware's fault. When certain spyware is removed it leaves a corrupted Winsock. Try this fix.

See the bottom of the webpage for the XP version.
